Half-Mask Respiratory Protection Training

The Half-Mask Respiratory Protection Training is required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for all UIC researchers, students, residents, faculty, and staff that are required to wear particulate respirators when there is a potential exposure to airborne infectious materials and/or other harmful airborne particulate matter. Once the training has been completed, you must be fitted with the appropriate respirator by EHSO (referred to as fit-testing). The training & test, along with respirator fit testing, must be completed annually or more frequently, if deemed necessary.
